During this economic crisis it is wise to get the best Denver bankruptcy attorney you can find and afford. Your money is fast losing its power, and credit is getting harder and harder to find. If you have a personal financial crisis and need a Denver bankruptcy attorney read this article for some good tips on what to look for.

Looking for a Denver bankruptcy lawyer will result in long search if you want your financial future to look brighter. You must consider all your options before you commit to bankruptcy or if you believe you can avoid bankruptcy by some other means. If you have a high debt load and are unemployed you may need that Denver bankruptcy attorney. If you are retired and have no other means of income and have managed to get yourself into a high debt load you also may need a Denver bankruptcy attorney.

One of the things to look for in a Denver bankruptcy attorney is whether or not the attorney specializes in bankruptcy or not. If you choose an attorney who has no successful business in practicing bankruptcy law, you may be paying for years to come. You do not want to lose a house or a car if it is possible under your present circumstances to keep them. A good Denver bankruptcy attorney will be able to help you keep more of your possessions.

Look for the Denver bankruptcy attorney who takes a personal interest in you. If you just call on the first bankruptcy attorney that has the biggest yellow pages ad in the phone book, no doubt you could make a bad mistake. Flashy advertising does not make a good bankruptcy lawyer. You will also want to find a Denver bankruptcy attorney that offers a free counseling session. This way you can find out from a person who is familiar with the law if you truly need to be filing bankruptcy or can avoid it. If you can avoid the destruction that will visit your credit rating from a bankruptcy, so much the better.

Remember, when you finally find the Denver bankruptcy attorney that will do you the best, you could be saving your home or other personal belongings. The attorney should know all about what to do, what forms to fill out, and so forth. Your money should be buying theĀ  expertise that will cause the least amount of pain in the long run. Do not settle for second best when you choose your Denver bankruptcy attorney and you will have more peace of mind later.

Denver Bankruptcy Lawyers

On our family flight home from Atlanta to Seattle we had a layover (extremely brief) in Denver. What a lovely view from up in the sky, there was a fresh snow fall the day before, but most of it had already melted – typical from what I hear.

I got to thinking about the city of Denver is doing business wise. With 300 days of annual sunshine (here in Seattle that number is more like 120 days of sun) Denver is a great place for people and businesses alike. Samsonite, Frontier (the airline I rode), The Shane Company (heard so many of those commercials growing up), Johns Manville and Coors are all headquartered in the greater Denver area.

Many of those businesses are probably holding up alright and I’d guess Denver is feeling an average amount of pain from the current recession. If you live in Denver and are having financial difficulties, you should consider consulting a Dever Bankruptcy Attorney. It never hurts to know your options and be prepared ahead of time.

Big 3 Automakers and Bankruptcies in the Midwest

November 17th, 2008 admin Posted in Cities & States No Comments »

The fate of the Big 3 automakers is definitely up in the air right now. Obama is signalling strongly that he is in favor of some sort of bailout for the Big 3. If the Big 3 don’t get bailed out, there will have to be massive layoffs starting almost immediately. Assuming that there were at least 200,000 US employees at the Big 3, the metric many people use for jobs dependent on Ford, GM and Chrysler are 10 to 1. So roughly 2 million jobs are up in the air right now, though by no means would they all evaporate instantly even under the most pessimistic scenarios.

Many of these jobs are located in the Midwest so if people start losing jobs in massive numbers, there will be a huge surge in bankruptices in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and many of the surrounding states. It could get pretty overwhelming quickly for the lawyers in these states and I would expect the huge uptick in demand could bring a lot of other lawyers in the bankruptcy niche.

Los Angeles Bankruptcy Lawyers

Southern California is going through a tough time right now. In the Wall Street Journal they have profiled small communities where close to 70% of the homes are underwater and people are in danger of foreclosing. If you live in a house that is now worth less than what you paid for it, all is not lost, not even close. If you plan to stay in your LA home for longer than 7-10 years, prices will probably get back to 2004 or 2005 levels.

If for some reason you need to move for a new job, then you might have a problem. I have a friend who’s a national recruiter and he said that one of the biggest obstacles to getting people into new jobs lately is that they can’t move because they owe more on their house than it is currently worth. Some companies are stepping up to the plate and paying the difference so you can get move out of your current home to a new city, but this is pretty rare.

If you are looking to explore your options, consider consulting a Los Angeles Bankruptcy Lawyer. Many lawyers in our directory offer free bankruptcy consultations – it never hurts to explore your options.
