Free Bankruptcy Consultation

November 19th, 2008 admin Posted in Free Resources No Comments »

If you are considering your financial options, make sure you ask an attorney if he/she offers free bankruptcy consultations. There are many things you need to discuss before you make the decision to file for chapter 7 or 13 (or chapter 11 if you have a business). It would be useful to bring a list of assets to the initial meeting as there are many key facts you should know. For example certain asset classes can be protected during a potential bankruptcy filing - 401K’s, homes, cars among others (this is not an exhaustive or necessary accurate list, consult with an attorney in your state for your spefic protected assets).

Filing bankruptcy will cost you money, but it can also bring you peice of mind. Don’t let the fear of bankruptcy keep you from going over your options with a licensed attorney. Most bankruptcy attorneys that I know lament the fact that clients often come to them 6 months too late after the client has liquidated every asset they own when they didn’t necessarily need to do that. Take advantage of a free bankruptcy consultation today.

How Do You Find a Bankruptcy Lawyer

October 29th, 2008 admin Posted in Free Resources No Comments »

I’m in my early thirties, so when I go to look for something I immediately start with Google search. I type in what I’m looking for, sort through the sponsored ads (on the right hand side and in yellow up top) and sometimes that gets me what I need right away. Sometimes I will go straight to the organic search, but that can be hit and miss depending on what I’m looking for.

I’ll tell you what I never use - it’s the phone book. If I get a phone book at my house, it’s going into the recycling and never to be used again. Paradoxically the less I’ve come to rely on the phone book, the more they deliver to my house, what a waste.

I also use word of mouth referrals. These are probably the best and if I need anything I’m ask friends or co-workers first and then maybe I’ll follow it up with a little Google search on my own.
